If you are a charity interested in working with us on the 2021 Scotland Coast to Coast, please email jeremy.watson@ratraceadventure.com with your enquiry and we will be happy to share our 2012 Charity Programme with you for your consideration. Our official charity partners will be announced from January 2012 onwards.
If you are an individual thinking about taking part in the 2012 Coast to Coast to raise money for charity, well done for getting this far and contemplating the challenge ahead. The Coast to Coast is an ideal fund-raising platform; it is a fantastic physical and mental goal and the element of journey allows real focus to your fund-raising.
You are free to raise funds for the charity of your choice or you might choose to support one of our official 2012 charity partners, who may be able to offer a special fundraiser’s deal on entry or other incentives and provide you with support throughout your fundraising activities. Either way, there is no obligation whatsoever to raise any money from your participation and many many people come to take part simply for the challenge in its own right. We simply offer the platform; you choose your cause.

The Stroke Association is working towards a world where there are fewer strokes and where all those touched by stroke get the help they need. Our mission is to prevent strokes, and reduce their effect through providing services, campaigning, education and research. Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke and The Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. Take on this challenge for The Stroke Association and make a real difference to the lives of stroke survivors across the UK. When You Wish Upon a Star is a charity that has been granting the Wishes of children with a life threatening illness from all over the UK since 1990, during that time we have granted over 14,500 Wishes.
All children have Wishes, but for these children all of whom have a life threatening illness, that Wish is so much more precious. For the duration of their Wish they are able to forget about hospital routines, doctor’s appointments and gruelling treatments and smile, laugh and enjoy life like any other child.
Wishes are varied and far reaching. One of our most popular wishes every year is to visit Santa Claus in Lapland. For some it is a trip to Disneyland in Florida or Paris, for others it is a chance to get up close to a favourite pop star or sporting hero. Some children Wish for books or toys whilst others Wish for a computer to catch up on school work or to keep in touch with friends.
Whatever the Wish wherever possible, When You Wish Upon a Star will aim to make that Wish come true. Our aim is to create the most magical memories for the family and the child that will last a lifetime.
With your help by raising money for When You Wish Upon a Star you really will make a difference and make it possible to transform so many tears into laughter and turn frowns upside down, helping us to ensure we continue creating smiles on the faces of these brave and courageous children throughout the UK.
